The silly bear faces on the otherwise super serious mechs look comically bad. Is every deck build pack going to have fucking consellation themed space mechs from now on? Because this has been two in a row and the theme has already gotten old. At least with Drytron the dragon theme kind of worked since mythological creatures like dragons can be whatever they want including star robots. These are just teddy bear mechs.

>> No.76946370

Konami should print a LOT more support cards for most archetypes, even if intentionally mediocre to make sure it's balanced.
I feel like most archetypes have too few cards, and not everyone likes to mix engines.
I also feel like they print some sort of 'minimum' amount just to call it a day's effort instead of really diving into the various decks and giving them spicy and fun art / options.

new bear archetype and theyre kinda ugly. im willing to bet they fight the drytrons in lore

>> No.76947517

the main reason these suck way more than drytrons is because their common effect is "during the main phase tribute another lvl 7 or higher monster from the hand to special summon this card (quick effect)"

and while that sounds good, drytrons can be summoned from the hand or graveyard as their common effect, whereas these ones seem like a bunch of bricks with a mediocre summon effect if you play them pure

>> No.76947832

So their quick play and trap can get from the graveyard, but yeah they don't have a good normal summon right now. I assume they have to have a Lv 1 monster so their Level 8 Tuners work, but we haven't seen it yet.

Desires is great because you end up running an assload of three-ofs in the main deck and banishing one or two rarely ends your combo and you can use it at any point to dig with what you have in hand before going for a blind +2. their non-lvl 1 synchros require the lvl 1 synchro to summon- basically they need a lvl 8 tuner and then a lvl 1 synchro monster to get out. and we only know of 1 lvl 1 synchro monster, so here we go.

if their "cant synchro summon" clause means they cant be revived from the GY after being properly summoned im gonna be angry. It doesnt say "must FIRST" so im willing to bet you cant even rez them if they get popped

How the fuck can anyone sell these tacos as near mint without feeling like a scumbag scammer? Does anyone know a good way to flatten these out besides leaving them under a book for a year?
Hope for Eldland or Sanguine in the opening hand. Pop your own set cards to get the right configuration of backrow for the opponent's turn. Typically you'll want a Sanguine and Conq set for disruption. If you're running pure you'll want to have lots of blowout or floodgate traps or other disruptions like hand traps depending on how safe you feel setting a bunch of backrow going second. You have a lot of room for extra engines, usually ones that are normal summon reliant since Eldlich can't use their normal summon. Lilith, Lady of Lament can get you to your trap cards in pure, stuff like Live Twins help keep tempo while tagging out on the opponent's turn for a guaranteed pop and link material, Invoked is a consistent and extremely easy control fusion deck that focuses on sticking a Mechaba on turn 1, Trickstar can get you to Dragoon really easily while also locking backrow down, and Beckoning Beast can get you to either Curious the Lightsworn Dominion off one normal summon for a foolish, mill, and link-3 body while also being an easy access to Verte for Dragoon, and cancer Red-Eyes Insight pile can turbo out Dragoon without having to think about Verte.

Charmers don't really do anything other than swarm and beatdown. They're pretty good at rank 4 xyz spam but I wouldn't call them great at it. One of the things I kind of disregarded and had to go back to afterwards was Witch of the Black Forest which came with the structure deck. It's surprisingly okay since you can cycle through your extenders by summoning Witch, using one of the 1500/200s, linking into that element's charmer link, then grabbing a different 1500/200 with Witch to climb more. Granted they were morons and didn't include the Charmer links in the deck and I've been using Witch in Magistus instead of Charmers but the idea is pretty sound. You could also use it to gain some advantage off your main deck Awakening of the Possessed monsters.
As for fun structure decks, that's really subjective. I loved Shaddolls and Sacred Beasts for very different reasons. Shaddolls was a great entry to metafaggotry and teching and Sacred Beasts was lose on the opening hand or win so fucking hard you make the table rattle. But that inconsistency makes it not nearly as good as its win states would have you believe. But when you're winning it's a blast.

The End of Anubis you probably won't be able to find anything for as while its effects could prove a lot more useful than Jinzo's at this point, you do have to rely upon generic fiend support which I don't recall getting as much as other types, especially not at level 5, so you'd be stuck having to hard draw it.

Jinzo, on the other hand, has recently gotten an archetype built around it. It's a bit small, but if you grab Project Ignis's EDOPro you can mess around with an 'official' one from Konami listed on this page:

Carbon tributes itself to search an Earth Fairy except itself and can stack itself from the gy to the deck.
The lizard banishes itself from the gy to either flip an opponent's monster and your reptile monster facedown, or destroy your reptile and make the opponent's monster's attack 0.

Nah, the interview where Slifer himself explained how it happened is full of bullshit.

1) No other card was renamed after a member of staff.

2) The "guy" who supposedly did it without Slifer, the executive producer,'s knowledge is conveniently not named.

3) If the supposed logic was censorship of Egyptian deity names then there is no logic in renaming Osiris and not Ra.

It's clear the interview was just damage control on his personal reputation to not sound like an unprofessional and feckless egotist who never at the time had the imagination to fathom how big yu-gi-oh would become. He was clearly trying to have fun in a place he thought didn't matter very much.

I dunno man, lets say they did this and unbanned Linkross, you'd still be able to do the nibiru-proof herald of the arc light + verte + dragun combo, and being able to do linkross + auroradon would result into maximum degenerate combos, only thing you need to do is synchro the tokens away to link climb, which is not hard with cards like martial metal marcher and crystron quandax

Nah the joke was that my Maxes came in warped like they had been stored in a tube. The archetype itself is alright but it has the curse of bricks. I'm sure better players than me can pilot it in a way that limits the problems with its lack of recovery after a board wipe but that's another problem I have with the deck. Not having a Musket on the field during the opponent's turn for whatever reason is an immediate failure state since none of your hand traps can be played. I might check out Amazement.
