Since /vip/ is a Christian board let's read the entire Bible this year (the KJV version, of course.)

Today, 1/1/2021, we start with Matthew 1, then Genesis 1, 2, and 3.

For context, the book of Matthew presents Jesus as the messiah and savior of all of humanity and the beginning serves as a transition from the Old Testament to the New.

Genesis is a book of beginnings that introduces central themes of the Bible, such as creation and redemption.

Catch up for tomorrow's chapters, and God bless.

Today, 1/2/2021 we continue with Matthew 2, then Genesis 4, 5 and 6.

Continuing off from the beginning of Jesus' birth from Matthew and the continuation of the origin of Man, his foibles and wickedness in Genesis. Enjoy reading and God bless you today.

Today, read Matthew 3, then Genesis 7, 8 and 9. God bless.

Yesterday's post ought to have been: We start to meet some of Jesus' disciples in the reading today after He is tempted by Satan in Matthew 4.

In Genesis 10, 11, and 12 we learn of Noah's descendents, The Tower of Babel, and God's call to Abram, a man who went out and deceived pharoah.

Today, join me in reading Matthew 5:1-26 and continue reading Genesis: 13, 14 and 25.

Today, 1/6/2021, we'll read Matthew 5:27-48 and Genesis 16 and 17.

Picking up from Jesus' teachings on those who are blessed, and on how we should perceive our lives as the salt of the earth, and teachings on murder and anger from yesterday (in Matt. 5:1-26), 27-48 will focus on Jesus' other teachings on temptation, divorce, oaths, and forgiveness.

Flipping back to Genesis we continue to learn about Abram's life and household, and his relationship and covenants with almighty God.

God bless you today.

I was reading yesterday's verses to a group and neglected to update, but no harm in catching up:

on 1/7/2021 we read Matthew 6:1-18 - a continuance of Jesus' teachings - and Genesis 18 and 19 which includes the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Today, 1/8/2021 we'll read Matthew 6:19-34 and Genesis 20,21,22.

Commit yourself to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and repent.

On 1/9/2021 we read Matthew 7 and Genesis 23 and 24.

In Matthew yesterday we learn about Jesus' teaching of judging and being judged, of asking and receiving, on the strait gates to heaven and on the wide gates to damnation, on false prophets, and an important reminder that if we do not abide by Jesus Christ's teachings we build our life's foundation on sand and great will be our fall.

Today, 1/20/2021 we'll continue and read Matthew 8:1-17 and Genesis 25 and 26.

Catching up from yesterday we'll continue reading the first healing miracles of Jesus in Matthew 9. (Yesterday's verses ought to have been Matt. 9:1-17, today's are 9:18-38)

"They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth,
I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Your faith in Him makes you complete as he has always assured us.

Flipping back to Genesis we continue to follow Abraham's patriarchal lineage through his grandsons now, Esau and Jacob, the twin brothers of Isaac and Rebekah. In particular we follow Jacob's prosperous journey to the east in
Genesis 29 and 30 (yesterday's reading).

Today we'll read Genesis 31 and 32.

Yesterday we read Matthew 11: Jesus speaking with John's messengers, rebuking evil cities, and reminding all of us of how lighter our burdens become through Him.

Yesterday we also read Genesis 39 and 40.

Today we read Matthew 12:1-23, learning more about Jesus miraculous healing ways fulfilling prophecies, and the beginning of the evil Pharisees' schemes to destroy Jesus... More of that tomorrow.

We also read Genesis 41 and 42 today.

God bless you today and every day. Trust in Him and let your life's burdens be lifted in His name.

Today we read Matthew 14 and Exodus 1, 2 and 3.

Contents:
Death of John the Baptist. (1-12) Five thousand people miraculously fed. (13-21) Jesus walks upon the sea. (22-33) Jesus healing the sick. (34-36)

Do not be a timid Christian. Be proud of your faith in the almighty savior.

When men pretend to favour the gospel, yet live in evil, we must not favour their self-delusion, but must deliver our consciences as John did.

Yesterday 1/24/2021 we read Exodus 7, 8 and 9.

Today we'll read Matthew 16 and Exodus 10, 11, 12 and 13.

Play close attention to Jesus' warning against the doctrines of the Pharisees. Those Jews who did not see in Him the messiah will be damned.

God bless you today.
